Maona Cinema is an independent art house cinema with an ambition to screen films from all over the world that push boundaries. It developed from Maona Art, an initiative set up in 2021 by Tatenda Jamera "to address the glaring absence of African cinema in independent cinemas across the UK". The name derives from the Shona language of Zimbabwe, meaning 'You have seen'.
Parking
No roadside parking. Nearest car park is The Horse Market (a couple of mins walk from the venue). There are some Disabled Parking Spaces at the top of Arthur Street.There are more Disabled Parking Spaces at the Horsemarket car park.

Doors open 30 minutes before each screening.
Tickets
Tickets can be purchased from maonacinema.com or on the door (providing there are seats left). Prices are for Adult, Senior Citizen or Child tickets. We also support CEA Cardholders - please select which ticket type you would like and add CEA Cardholder ticket. You can input your CEA card number into the discount box at checkout.
Refunds
We don’t issue refunds to ticket purchases unless there is an error with the screening. However, we will endeavour to accommodate you at an alternative/ future screening.
Access
There is no wheelchair access to the first floor where the auditorium is situated. The main staircase is wide and has handrails on either side. Wheelchairs or mobility scooters may be left downstairs if visitors can manage stairs. There is an accessible toilet downstairs.

Refreshments
A licensed bar sells a range of hot & cold drinks and pre-packaged snacks.
